How to make a lower third
- Enter the speaker’s name, role and programme or company name.
- Choose a treatment, accent color and bundled typeface. Add a PNG, JPEG or WebP logo if needed.
- Choose landscape or portrait, set 4–15 seconds, and preview the entrance and exit.
- Export WebM or ProRes 4444 MOV. Import the overlay above your footage in a compatible video editor.
Transparent means reusable.
A lower third is a text graphic, usually near the bottom of a video, that identifies a person or adds context. An alpha channel preserves the empty area around that graphic, so you can place it over another video.
The studio’s checkerboard shows that empty area. It is not baked into the download. An ordinary opaque MP4 would cover your footage, so the lower-third workflow offers alpha-capable formats.

Lower-third questions
Can I add a logo and change the typography?
Yes. Upload a PNG, JPEG or WebP image up to 3 MB. Logos use contain fitting to keep their proportions. Choose Inter or Barlow Condensed, change the accent color and inspect the result. The supplied fonts and uploaded logo travel with the export.
Can I put the graphic directly over my video here?
This release creates the overlay. It does not import footage or edit a timeline. Place the downloaded overlay over your footage in an external editor that supports the chosen alpha format.
Which lower-third format should I choose?
Choose WebM for software that supports WebM alpha. Choose ProRes 4444 MOV for a compatible desktop editing workflow. MOV files are larger. A black background in a player may mean that the player does not display transparency; check by compositing in your editor.
Will long names fit?
Text wraps and shrinks within bounded sizes. The editor preserves your exact text and line breaks. If it cannot fit the layout, shorten the text or change orientation; impossible layouts are rejected rather than silently dropping words.
